Veterinary Leadership & Management

“Time to Lead”

If you think you don’t have time to do this course, then you probably need it! Being in a leadership or supervisory position can be hard work. Do you feel like you are constantly juggling balls and they keep falling on the floor?

If you are struggling with sensible time management in your work role, your motivation, productivity and sense of satisfaction will suffer. Poor time management will also have a detrimental effect on your team members because you will just not have the time to give them the attention they deserve. It can become a vicious circle.

Fortunately, like all good management skills, time management can be learnt and then practiced to perfection! On this course we will help you learn some key strategies in what we think are the most important areas.

Firstly, we will look at time management. It is important you have some key techniques to help you manage your work life more efficiently and stay sane.

Secondly, we will delve into delegation. Effective delegation will not only motivate and develop your team, it will free up valuable time for you.

We will then move onto successful meetings. A pointless meeting with no clear agenda or outcomes is a waste of time. An organised and well planned meeting can tackle any ongoing issues that may be taking up too much of your time throughout the working day, nipping any potential issues in the bud. They can be enjoyable as well!

Finally we will look at reflection. Taking a little time to consider your own strengths and weaknesses will help you plan how you move forward in your leadership role. Not only is it an essential skill in a managerial role, it is also an indispensable life skill.
