Carol worked as a veterinary surgeon in small animal practice for 15 years, including 6 years as a partner in a two-person practice in SE London. She has 7 years’ experience of teaching in Further Education (veterinary nursing and animal care/management courses) and 13 years’ experience in Higher Education at the University of Liverpool. She completed her PG Certificate in Medical Education in 2006, and an MA in Medical Ethics and Law in 2012. She completed her dissertation on ‘informed consent in veterinary practice’.
She has co-edited two books, one on ethics and law for veterinary nurses, and one on communication skills for veterinary practice.
Carol’s main passion is the delivery of high quality student experience, especially innovative assessment and delivery methods.
Carol was co-founder of ONCORE and helped to build some of the learning materials. She has stepped away from the day-to-day running of ONCORE, but still helps out on some of our modules whilst also studying for a PhD in the School of Law at the University of Birmingham, on the topic of informed consent to veterinary treatment.
